A boat’s stereo is the centerpiece of its audio system. The stereo is both a cosmetic and useful addition to its dashboard. These stereos can be anti-corrosion, UV-resistant, and/or water-resistant. A boat’s stereo can perform multiple complex functions which can be organized into three groups: the source, the preamp, and the amplifier.
The source allows you to select what you want to hear (CD, AM/FM, USB, etc.). The preamp allows you to make adjustments to your sound (volume, source selection, etc.). Lastly, the amplifier transitions the low-voltage audio signal from the preamp into a high-voltage signal that’s sent to the speakers. If you’re in the market for a new watercraft-friendly stereo, we can assist you in finding the perfect system for your boat.
